Happy Independance Day!!

Went straight to the beach after breakfast

And we were COLD-- I know, I know... BAD NATIVE MINNESOTANS! haha

Grilled for late lunch-- baked beans, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, mexican grilled corn and apple pie bites and s'mores for desert :)

Play time on the patio

Daddy grilling-- it stormed for a bit so we lit candles to brighten it up a bit

S'mores, gin rummy and lots of beer

Fireworks in Channelside!

...So, yeah. This kind of sums up our day! Beach in the AM, came home and grilled while slurping strawberry cocktails. Ate a late lunch while Andrew played. Enjoyed Andrew's smiles and showed him a sparkler. Put him down for a nap and played Gin Rummy while making s'mores and drinking beers. Then went downtown for fireworks. We got a great seat, and it was a great display. Andrew ate for about 1/2 of it, and then we cuddled him from either side and all watched. When the finale started he did a double take and made THE cutest "Ooooooooooo" face, it was priceless!

We came home and put him to bed right away (It was an hour after his usual bedtime). He was so smiley and happy! When Jesse is home to put him to bed we give him a big sloppy kiss on either cheek and he giggled!! So fun :)

He also is weaned off of the swaddle pod and paci for sleeping and naps- yay! He adores being tucked in and gleefully grabs his elephant, cuddles with it and smiles up at us as we turn on his mobile and leave-- how cute is this kid??????

Cannot believe he will be 6 months old in 4 days..... he is growing up way too fast!!!!! But we are loving every moment of it :-D

Happy Father's Day!!

Hope all of y'all had a wonderful weekend and a fantabulous father's day!!

My Father's Day gift for hubby

Here at home we had a ton of fun!

Saturday was devoted to devouring lots of taco dip and bite-size fruit pizzas while visiting with my great uncle and aunt, Sunday was devoted to hubby.

Sunday we went to church (hubby got to sleep an extra hour than when I USUALLY wake him up haha), and we went to our church service. It is noticeably more packed on holidays there but for whatever reason, this day it was practically empty! It was a good sermon all about those who have a greater debt to God loving him more, etc. Very good to hear and Andrew was a little trooper cuddling with daddy and napping during the sermon <3

After church, I made Jesse's favorite-- lemon glazed poppyseed muffins, as well as omlets and strawberries for lunch. We got to spend some time cuddling baby and relaxing before the next activities of the day began....

We headed to Ybor city, and walked to Centro Ybor. Really fun little complex beside the city trolley and a bunch of interesting buildings. We went to Muvico 20 and Jesse got to pick the movie we saw-- he chose Star Trek into Darkness (I am a total trekkie so I heartily approved of his choice!)
, it was downpouring afterwards-- typical hurricane season weather-- so we visited Tampa Bay Brewing company for a beer (Guy Fiero (sp?) visited this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives).

At Tampa Bay Brewing Co.

Afterwards, we drove around to see what downtown Ybor city had to offer and found a few more spots to hit up another day. We ended our evening at Bernini's-- an Italian restaurant. We had blue cheese stuffed mussels, crispy duck and osso bucco and it was all delicious!!
Bernini's

We picked up "Oz" and "Hansel and Gretel" on the way home and almost immediately changed into PJs, and cuddled up to watch "Oz" with a bag of Reese's pieces and a bottle of Moscato D'Asti :)

Oh and Jesse seemed to enjoy my homemade gift for him-- YAY!!!! :-D

All in all it was a wonderful day!

Andrew at five months....

"Just a few weeks ago, your baby had no idea that his teddy bear still existed when he wasn't in plain view. Well, all that's changed as he's now caught on to the concept of object permanence.  That's why he loves to play peek-a-boo or find items that are "hidden" (Is that my rattle behind your back?). These "seeking" games are like brainteasers for your baby. Your little one is also gaining manual dexterity and may now be able to pass a toy from one hand to the other or rake a small object and then pick it up. He's a big babbler too, so encourage his chatter by talking up a storm yourself. Chances are he's starting solids about now; read up on the baby daily dozen to ensure he gets the nutrients he needs. And speaking of eating, some babies may start teething early so keep an eye out for signs of teething, e.g., drooling, face rash, or crankiness. Two other potentially pesky problems, eczema and food allergies, often emerge around now, perhaps triggered by the introduction of solids. What else is up? Some babies are ready to start drinking from a cup, so if yours seems interested, give it a go. But do stay safe — choose cups, baby swings, jumpers, and other baby paraphernalia wisely, and, of course, never leave your baby unattended."

Well May was a big, big month! Let's see....

Mother's Day weekend was of course very nice with a massage from hubby which lead to a possible job opportunity for moi--yay!

The weekend after Mother's Day we went on a trip to St. Petersburg! We visited the Dali Museum, the Florida Holocaust Museum, the Henry B. Plant Museum, and ate at Ceviche and Smokey Bones. We stayed at a little hotel close to the pier in St. Pete which made it easy to get back and forth to the museums there. We also hit up Treasure Island Beach and ALMOST went to Carnivale at the Aquarium but backed out at the last second because we barely finished eating before Andrew decided he was done with the road trip thing haha!

The weekend after THAT, we went to Wiregrass Mall with our friends Sal, Sky and new pal Thomas... shopping around, goofing off, and finished the night at the hibachi grill at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, yummmmm! <3

Can you believe how fast the month went???? I can't... seemed like it lasted a week, haha!

June came much too quickly but is leading to good things! We bought our plane tickets for a visit home, will be making car rental and hotel reservations later this week, possible opportunities for Jesse and myself, visits with family and of course FATHER'S DAY is just around the corner! My gifts for Jesse are hidden away and my plans are all set and ready for fun to be had! Can't wait to share them and some pics with y'all!

Andrew had his -late- 4 month check-up... he is doing great! 24 1/2 inches, 16.1 lbs-- 90th percentile for height, 50th for weight... he's gonna be a tall, skinny boy lol! He did great with the first 2 of 4 shots, but on the third he got the red face and silent screams :-( I didn't cry this time though so partial victory there, haha... After a bit of Tylenol the little guy passed out for about 4 hours and was smiling and chatty the rest of the day! We have not gotten the go-ahead for solids yet but imagine next month we will be starting it all!

Andrew is teething up a storm, and *may* have his front right-hand tooth coming in, we're not 100% sure, and the doctor didn't check/ we forgot to ask... Got a new stroller for the little guy to bring to MN and for recreational use down here, having fun switching to all-organic everything, and looking forward to a fun summer!

Well, I think that's about all for now... probably will be posting another 1 to 2 blogs this month to celebrate Father's Day and our 4 year dating anniversary :)
