Our Weekend ♡

We had such a fun, full weekend!

Saturday we went to a USF football game and staff Tailgate which was fun. We didn't do a whole lot as we got there late but we did see some of the game- enough to see USF score two touchdowns and have an awesome play! Afterwards, we dropped Andrew off at Granny's and went home to relax and play video games and have glasses out on the tables and eat junk food and all that other stuff we try not to do when the little one is around haha

Sunday we went to the Straz Center because Jesse had purchased Broadway tour tickets through his work so we were able to see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. It was soooo good!!!

Then Monday we finally got to the pumpkin Patch. It ended up being pretty warm and munchkin is definitely going into those terrible threes but we still had a lot of fun, picked out a nice big pumpkin and are still snacking on the huge bag of kettle corn we purchased. Yum!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! TTFN ♡

Noodle and Sausage Skillet meal!

This is one of my favorite meals to make. It’s yummy, it’s a bit of a comfort food and it’s easy to make – not to mention it has veggies which is always a plus ;)

You will need:
Smoked Sausage (I use Polska Kielbasa)
1 onion, chopped
3 cups (one package) of frozen broccoli/ cauliflower/ carrot mix – we use the ones in cheese sauce
About 2 cups uncooked Rotoni – we use the veggie noodles by Barilla
1 can cream of chicken soup, condensed
1 cup chicken broth
¾ cup water
Marjoram
Black Pepper
- We also use seasoned salt, salt, oregano, garlic and a bit of paprika to season it.

You’ll want to sauté the onions and sausage (cut into small disks) in butter or oil until the onions are soft, then add everything else to it. You bring the whole mixture to a boil and then take it down to simmer with a lid on and let it cook, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are cooked. Then enjoy! It’s so delicious! Hope you enjoy! And happy weekend!

Classic Shirley Temple

Since just thinking about booze of any sort makes me drool over the thought of a hard cider, I'm forgoing a Friday cocktail recipe for a sort of mock-tail. I had these as a kid, as an adult... they are always delicious.

*I copied this directly from USA Today, in an article by Ashley M. Williams.

"It is said that in the late 1930s, a bartender at Chasen's in Beverly Hills invented the cocktail. The bartender made the drink for the young actress during the pinnacle point of her fame.

The sweet concoction would later become a fun drink asked for by kids and adults alike.

The Shirley Temple recipe

Ingredients:

3 ounces lemon-lime soda

3 ounces ginger ale

Dash grenadine

Maraschino cherry for garnish

Pour lemon-lime soda and ginger ale into a glass with ice cubes. Then, add a dash of grenadine. Finally, stir your refreshing drink and top it off with a cherry."

Enjoy! And cheers to the weekend! Here's a photo of the young lady herself (in the 1930s):

P.s. Did you know there's a movie about her life? I've seen it, oh about a hundred times - and love it. Here's a link. TTFN <3

Have a delicious weekend!

I recently pinned this and it may or may not be making my mouth water a bit. Originally from jolynneshane.com - here it is, enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 16 oz tomato juice
  • 2 TBS fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 TBS lime juice
  • ½ TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • a few shakes of Tabasco
  • ½- 1 TBS prepared horseradish (not horseradish sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons of pickle juice
  • 1 tsp olive juice
  • 1 tsp pepperoncini juice (optional)
  • a few shakes black pepper
  • ½ a teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning
  • 4-6 ounces of good quality vodka

Garnish ideas: Pickle spear, celery stalk, green olives (plain or stuffed with blue cheese), shrimp, pepperoncini, lemon slice or a lime slice.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Wet the rim of two (16-20 oz) glasses with a piece of fresh lemon. Then dip the glass rims into a tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning (shake it onto a flat dish).
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Fill glasses halfway with ice.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together in a separate pitcher or container, stir it up well, and then pour mixture into your cocktail shaker, one batch at a time. Give it a good shaking to get it nice and cold, then pour the contents into your prepared glass.
  • Slide in a pickle spear or stalk of celery, a few Old Bay seasoned shrimp, a couple of big fat olives, and you are good to go. You can also add a lemon and or a lime slice, and if you’re feeling crazy a whole pepperoncini…Yum!

Our weekend!

Well, I didn't take many pictures but here's what I've got.

This weekend we tried to relax a lot and just have fun. SO, Friday we stayed in with a movie, Saturday we grilled hot dogs and made s'mores at the pool, and Sunday we stayed out all day!

First we went to Granny's house, helped her set up a few things and hung out, then we went to the mall which unfortunately was closing (sigh), and then out for pizza and watched some planes coming in.

Very low key but that's how we like it.

Hope you had a great weekend break! TTFN <3

Have a great weekend!

Figured that these Friday posts would be great for drink or brunch type recipes, so here ya go!

Moscato Punch

*Moscato
*Lemonade
*Lemon Lime Soda
*Strawberries

For a punch bowl you will use 1 bottle wine, 1 container of lemonade, and half a liter of soda. You can also freeze the fruit so it can help keep the punch cold.

Mix together, pour and enjoy!

Here is the original recipe.

♡Our weekend♡ 2.21.15

Because hubby worked Valentine's weekend, we had to make our date night the next weekend... well, it ended up turning into a date weekend, haha!

Saturday afternoon, we dropped Andrew off at Granny's and then headed to the movie theater. We saw

(And thought it was great! Everyone in the theater was laughing, it's actually pretty funny)

After getting home we relaxed a bit (I had made sure that all the housework had been finished that morning), we dressed up a bit and headed to Malios for a yummy steak and seafood dinner.

It was so nice getting home to a clean apartment, not having to be quiet or clean or make dinner... we opened a bottle of wine and curled up to watch FRIENDS, haha!

Sunday we slept in. As. Late. As. We. Could. Lol seriously, most glorious thing ever, not having to get up for Andrew- the puppy was outside and no hotel checkout time. SO good! We ate some muffins, turned on the pre oscars coverage, eventually got a ton of sushi

and then got ready for Hollywood Night!

We had a lot of fun again this year at the Oscar's event but we both agreed that it might be more fun to have a viewing party next year :)

Valentine's Day!

Jesse had to work all weekend so munchkin and I were on our own. SO, I decorated while Andrew was sleeping and he woke up to decorations and pink heart shaped pancakes.

Later on we gave him a temporary tattoo, read new books, and then we decided to visit granny's house. We picked up a few things and headed over, played, had lunch, and made strawberry cake pops with whipped cream frosting- yum!

After getting home, munchkin got to play with daddy a little, we grabbed Padfoot and walked to the mailboxes and back, and then had some dinner.

It was a fun, relaxing day with my little man and hubby and I get a weekend away next week with dinner and a huge oscar party, I can't wait! :-)
Hope you all had a fabulous, love-filled weekend!

Photo dump from our awesome weekend :)

Whew! What a weekend. We had a blast running around.... Friday we did the usual grocery run and then we headed to the Tampa Bay Yankees "Back-to-School" game. They had the Tampa Kids Market in the concourse, $2 tickets, fireworks after the show and they won by one point at the bottom of the ninth. Slow start but awesome way to end the game!

YAY THEY WON! Andrew was crying because of the loud cheering.....

Saturday we headed to the Lowry Park Zoo's birthday bash for their one-year old Elephant calf, Mavi. We got to see her and her mother be released to their "Birthday Cake", had some actual birthday cake, and played in the splash park.

A whole splash park, but he had to play with the stroller wheels, lol

Then he needed to ride the train....

Birthday cake!!

The Llama's expression. Priceless.
After lunch and a nap, we headed to an annual family party at USF for the Alumni Center Administration. It was SO much fun! They had a DJ, lots of games, some yummy food and lots of fun things to take home.
Once we arrived, Andrew saw the margarita maker and instantly freaked because blenders=smoothies, of course. Ha...Also, after finishing his hot dog he started a tantrum and no matter what we tried we couldn't figure it out. We tried feeding him multiple other things but other than A bite of my hamburger he would not eat or drink anything. After about 5 minutes Jesse got up and brought back a second hot dog. We cut it up and instant calm. He scarfed that one down too and then finished a good amount of his other food. Oh boy.
He also wet himself really badly part way through and we only had a onesie packed so he ran around in a onesie and sandals for about 90 minutes. We also made the mistake of showing him the fountain so long story short he went home with his whole front soaking wet haha.

Balloon artist made him a Minion :)

Loot!

Some ducks crossed our paths. A is smiling so big, while hubby is like "Keep your distance, ducks."

Sunday my mother watched the little man while hubby and I attended church, and then he surprised me with a movie date! We got a whole bucket of popcorn and hunkered down for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", which was really good.

Hope y'all had a great weekend full of fun! TTFN <3
