Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th! Hope y'all had a safe and fun holiday!

We had a full day here, started off with some red, white and blue pancakes. Little man didn't even touch the blue or red ones until I noticed a piece of the 'white' pancake mixed in with the red. Then he decided they were edible and gobbled up the rest.

After breakfast we went to the park. Andrew had a blast crawling on the equipment, swinging and exploring. We also visited the baby alligator in the pond there that we named "Izzie" lol.

We opened a bag of cherries for lunch, and then when Andrew went down for a nap Jesse and I played some games, stuffed our faces with cherries and downed a beer (or two).

For dinner we grilled hamburgers on the patio. We haven't grilled in forever so it was a lot of fun and so delicious! I still can't believe how much the little man put away - a small bowl of cottage cheese, a small bowl of baked beans, a little more than 1/2 a hamburger, at least 6 cherries, bottle of water, bottle of milk, 4 or 5 spoonfuls of my beans, a few more bites of a hamburger and kept reaching for more. We were definitely waiting anxiously for the seemingly inevitable puking to happen but it didn't! He somehow had that much room free in his little belly. Craziness.

After dinner and some playtime we took off for the Channelside fireworks. Parking is always a nightmare but we somehow stumbled upon a small parking lot under the toll road that was only $5-- gotta remember that for next year! We walked over to the bay area, sat on the median on our coats (it was storming of course) and waited a few minutes while munchkin waved around his light light sceptor toy thing from his grandparents and ate graham crackers. Once the show started he was intrigued but whining from the noise and kept burying his face in my neck and then turning back to watch. So I pressed one of his ears against my cheek and pressed the palm of my hand against the other- this seemed to keep him happy. He did reach over and hold daddy's hand for a while and at one point put his hand against his chest, very cute.

That look is priceless, right?? LOL

Andrew stayed up until 11pm that night through the fireworks, drive home, quick stop at WalMart and then saying hello to Granny. After he went to sleep for the night hubby and I broke open some strawberry ice cream. I have to say, other than one of two kinds of Ben and Jerrys, I am not a fan of ice cream anymore. Frozen Yogurt has changed me forever, haha ;)

Well, that's all for now! Gotta go finish watching Frozen with the munchkin!

TTFN! <3
