24 weeks/ six months!

How far along?  24.5 weeks!

Total weight gain: Up 3lbs from pre-pregnancy

Maternity clothes?  Yup – living in maternity leggings, yoga pants and jeans/shorts. I have started rotating in maternity shirts, but still wear a mix.

Stretch Marks?  Haven’t noticed any new ones so far

Sleep:  Lately it’s been really good. I have had a bit of a cold so I am out like a light when my head hits the pillow but I wake up still tired.

Best moment this week:  Being told that baby is doing great and so am I!

Worst moments this week:  Getting a cold. I’ve been so achy, foggy and just rough overall.

Miss Anything?  Hard Cider, Moscato, being able to drink at social events…. SUSHI

Movement:  Lots and lots of soft kicks in my pelvis, occasionally I get a harder kick and sometimes they are on my sides and up near my ribs but most often they are down low.

Food cravings:  Still fruit and sweet things. It’s a freaking miracle that I’ve been avoiding sweets since getting sick – I know I feel about 60 times worse when I eat anything sugary when I’m sick so trying like heck to avoid it! I also try to not take any medicines while pregnant so I’m holding out hope that my cold continues to get better and I don’t break down and take something.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just smells.

Gender:  Girl!

Labor signs:  Nope

Symptoms: Round Ligament pain in my pelvis, swollen ankles if we walk around all day (at the zoo, pumpkin patch, etc), stuffy nose (even before my cold), still a bit of fatigue and occasional heartburn.

Belly Button in or out?  It’s getting real, guys. Barely hangin’ in there.

Wedding rings on or off?  On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!

Looking forward to:  Halloween!! We’re taking Andrew to an event at the Children’s museum with tons of fun activities and trick or treating. It’s going to be awesome!!

Our Weekend ♡

We had such a fun, full weekend!

Saturday we went to a USF football game and staff Tailgate which was fun. We didn't do a whole lot as we got there late but we did see some of the game- enough to see USF score two touchdowns and have an awesome play! Afterwards, we dropped Andrew off at Granny's and went home to relax and play video games and have glasses out on the tables and eat junk food and all that other stuff we try not to do when the little one is around haha

Sunday we went to the Straz Center because Jesse had purchased Broadway tour tickets through his work so we were able to see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. It was soooo good!!!

Then Monday we finally got to the pumpkin Patch. It ended up being pretty warm and munchkin is definitely going into those terrible threes but we still had a lot of fun, picked out a nice big pumpkin and are still snacking on the huge bag of kettle corn we purchased. Yum!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! TTFN ♡

23 weeks - going SO FAST!

How far along?  23.5 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: negative 1lb at my last appointment… will find out how much I’ve gained next week!

Maternity clothes?  Definitely- I don’t even attempt to wear non-maternity pants anymore. I have quite a few maternity tops as well so I *usually* wear those but some regular shirts are still working (so far)

Stretch Marks?  Haven’t noticed any new ones

Sleep:  Sleep is pretty good but still wake up every few hours to shift positions.

Best moment this week:  No news is good news and I never heard anything from the OB about my glucose test so yay! I still have to do a second one-hour test at around 32 weeks due to diabetes running in my family. BUT it’s still great to hear that everything is good so far! :)

Worst moments this week:  Pregnancy brain is definitely setting in, sigh. Haha!

Miss Anything?  Hard Cider, Moscato, being able to drink at social events…. SUSHI

Movement:  Lots of soft kicks, some that are a little rougher, definitely some rolling or dragging a knee or elbow or something along the side of my belly. The other night as I was trying to get comfortable in bed it felt as though she was alternating between kicking my intestines and bladder so that was interesting.

Food cravings:  Nothing super specific but dairy is definitely more appealing than pre-pregnancy… especially milk.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Smells

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes indeed!

Gender:  It’s a girl!

Labor signs:  Nope

Belly Button in or out?  It’s getting real, guys. Barely hangin’ in there.

Wedding rings on or off?  On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!

Looking forward to:  A super fun family weekend!

DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte

...because I cannot get enough of all things pumpkin!

I found this at FoodNetwork.com and it looks SO simple and delicious, I may try it with decaff coffee just to see if it's as good so I can drink them more often, hehe :)

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup hot espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • Sweetened whipped cream, for serving

Combine the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla in a medium microwave safe bowl, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and vent with a small hole. Microwave until the milk is hot, 1 to 2 minutes. Whisk vigorously until the milk mixture is foamy, about 30 seconds.

Pour the espresso or coffee into a large mug and add the foamed milk. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

Stretch Marks?  No new ones so far *knock on wood*

Sleep:  Starting to wake up every few hours to shift around :-/

Best moment this week:  Having Andrew give baby kisses

Worst moments this week:  Burn out lol

Miss Anything?  Lunch meat, hard cider, laying on my stomach, being able to shave or paint my toenails without getting into awkward positions and running out of breath haha

Movement:  Lots and lots of kicks, mostly in the evening right after dinner and after I lay down for bed.

Food cravings:  Fruit, cheese, pickles, salad

Anything making you queasy or sick: Mainly still just bad smells

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes indeed!

Gender prediction:  It’s a girl!

Labor signs:  Nope

Belly Button in or out?  Still in but often very shallow or nearly flat depending on how far forward baby is hanging out.

Is Wee Baby Schmitt a BOY or GIRL?

Wednesday we went in for the anatomy scan and it went great! Baby and I are looking good and healthy (and I got my glucose test out of the way, yay!).

But the other exciting news is that baby is a........................................

GIRL!!!

We're super excited and Andrew is already kissing my belly and saying "I love you baby" which pretty much melts my heart to a puddle.

We all already love you so much, baby girl!

21 weeks

How far along?  21.5 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss:  I'm now only one lb below my original weight so have gained 3 lbs in the past month lol

Maternity clothes?  Yes, and I’m loving them! Especially this pair of yoga pants I got from Target – you can find them here.

Stretch Marks?  No new ones so far *knock on wood*

Sleep:  Pretty good, when Jesse’s home at least. Otherwise I tend to wake up every few hours.

Best moment this week:  So far it’s been decorating, all the pumpkin goodness and getting munchkin registered for music class and taking him to the museum :)

Worst moments this week:  Heartburn is already hitting me pretty hard and I am not a fan lol

Miss Anything?  LUNCH MEAT. I doubt this is going to change anytime soon. Sushi also sounds delicious and I’m looking forward to some Woodchuck Cider this Spring haha

Movement:  Yes! Lots of kicks, almost all of them in the same spot – my lower left side. Though I sometimes feel some little movements on my upper right side (perhaps punches?) Looking forward to seeing what he’s doing in there when we get the Ultrasound!

Food cravings:  Fruit, sweets and milk.

Anything making you queasy or sick: So far just smells, V8 Fusion juice and heartburn.

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes indeed!

Gender prediction:  I’m still torn. I used to think for sure it was a boy but I think so many people are thinking ‘girl’ it’s confusing me, haha! Jesse is still sure it’s a girl (probably wishful thinking on his part). We’d both adore to have a little girl but I also absolutely love the idea of Andrew having a little brother to play with so I know I’m going to be happy either way.

Labor signs:  Nope

Belly Button in or out?  Still in but often very shallow or nearly flat depending on how far forward baby is hanging out.

Wedding rings on or off?  On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!! I have this renewed sense of love and awe for Andrew. I could just sit and stare at him all day. And as for baby, I smile every time I feel a little kick (well, maybe except for when he or she kicks me in the round ligament haha)

Looking forward to:  The Ultrasound! It’s TODAY!! We’ll be putting the gender reveal together tonight and will have a post up on here about it on Friday!

Moving Update!

For those of you who may not know, our lease is up at the end of November and we have been looking at new places online. Thankfully there seems to be a lot of homes for rent in the area that we want (we're moving to cut Jesse's work commute in half), and most of them are three bedroom townhouses which would be really great!

Zillow.com is where we've been looking - check it out!

However, in a previous post (found here) I mentioned that the OBGYN that I was seeing for this pregnancy was really not cutting it and after a lot of other Tampa mama's recommendations, I switched to The Women's Group. I've only been to one of their locations once but it blew me away how different it was. Not only was it much cleaner and beautifully decorated, but the nurses have all been super helpful, they have a 24 hour nurse line specifically for us preggo ladies and the doctors are amazing. The downside? Having to pay almost $1500 upfront for labs, visits and delivery costs for the clinic itself.

SO long story short, due to this huge amount of money we hadn't had any time to budget or save for, we're pretty low on funds. We talked a bit about what to do and also talked with our current place and are now staying until the end of December. Hopefully with Jesse picking up some overtime, we should be able to gather enough to begin moving mid to late December.

Trying to see the glass half full - at least I have another month before I need to start packing now! Haha :)

In other news, Wednesday is the big day! I have my glucose test, we have the anatomy scan and we will be finding out the baby's gender! Words cannot express how thankful I feel every day - even when my ligaments are sore or my back hurts, I feel those little kicks and am just completely overwhelmed with love. Pregnancy truly is such a blessing!!

20 weeks/ 5 months!

How far along?  20.5 weeks :)

Total weight gain/loss:  Last time I checked, still down 4 lbs

Maternity clothes?  Yup, most of my wardrobe is now maternity wear, though I am trying to use my regular shirts as long as possible. Some are already not working out so well though haha

Stretch Marks?  No new ones

Sleep:  Good!

Best moment this week:  Just spending time with my boys and feeling baby kick more and more.

Worst moments this week:  Severe back pain over the weekend/ during our road trip and how crappy I feel when I overdo it.

Miss Anything?  LUNCH MEAT. Oh goodness, I could eat about 10 hoagie sandwiches right now and probably still want more. And I’m not a huge lunch meat eater usually.

Movement:  Yes! Lots and lots of little kicks. Other than baby kicking my round ligament on the trip, they don’t hurt, just feel a bit like popcorn popping in my belly haha. Also, some flips and maybe punches?

Food cravings:  Burgers, fruit, milk, sweets

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just the smells of things. Funnily enough, though most of the things I think smell bad smell fine to hubby, the other day at Target I could smell raspberries when Jesse just smelt gasoline lol! P.s. We picked up raspberries there hehe

Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah.

Gender prediction:  I’m totally torn at this point. Jesse is still totally team girl. Only five more days until we find out!

Labor signs:  Nope

Belly Button in or out?  In but quite shallow. I’m thinking I’m going to end up with an outie this go around. Baby likes to hang out right in the front of my stomach when I’ve been moving around a lot and those times when I sit or stand my belly button is almost flat haha

Wedding rings on or off?  On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, though I do still cry almost every day. Well, I think I also can get annoyed pretty fast… you’ll have to ask hubby haha

Looking forward to:  The Ultrasound! My mama is helping us out a ton by watching Andrew while we go to my appointment – luckily I can do my glucose test at the same time as the anatomy scan which is really great; looking forward to having that over with (the glucose test that is).
